JK: What do you consider your movie breakthrough?
DW: I'm never very good at working that one out, because I've been up-and-coming for a long time, and everyone goes, "This is gonna break you," and nothing seems to
change, so I suppose my first big role was "Surviving Picasso," with this amazing cast, Anthony Hopkins, Annette Benning, and Robert Downey, Jr., and that was really,
I suppose that was my first film, my first big film.
JK: And you had a line in "The Phantom Menace"? One line?
DW: I did. Well, I actually played two characters, but they cut one of them, or they replaced me with a robot, which obviously could act better. I was a Nabu officer
as well as a palace guard. Only the palace guard made it to the cut.
JK: "300" certainly should have changed how you're viewed by Hollywood. That was a big hit. [Sandee]
DW: Yes it was. I suppose that marked my transition from sort of "drunk boy friend" to "evil rapist," which is a natural transition, I suppose.
JK: You had THE choice role in that movie, romancing the queen...
DW: Raping the queen.
