Jim King: I'm with Dominic West.
Dominic West: Hello, Jim.
JK: Dominic is a British actor born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, and stars as Jimmy McNulty on "The Wire." Would you say you're the star?
DW: Absolutely, I'm the star, the central character about around which everyone else frankly pales into insignificance.
JK: Dominic also has major movie credits, "Hannibal Rising," "Chicago," "Mona Lisa Smiles," "The Forgotten," "Rock Star"...
DW: "300."
JK: I was just getting to that. And the surprise hit, the Spartan costume bloodfest, "300." I loved it. Dominic is also an accomplished stage actor?
DW: Yes, you could say that.
JK: How did you become an actor?
DW: I went to a drama school called the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, which is mainly a music school, but it also has an acting school. I wanted to be an actor
by the age of 9, as my mother was an actor in Sheffield. It was a while after that when I went professional, about eleven or twelve years ago.
