Exclusive Clarke Peters Interview JK: You should tap David Simon on the shoulder for some personal attention.

CP: I've been tapping him on the shoulder for years saying, "Please bring back my girl friend."

JK: David is on record as saying that nobody but Sydnor gets out without some dirt on them.  What are they going to do to Lester?

CP: Looking at where I'm at right now, they could get me for obstructing justice.

JK: So you're following the money this year?

CP: Yeah, I got to.  Lester has always been a wayward character, you know, thirteen years and four months sidelined into the Pawn Shop unit.  Many police officers have told me that that's a familiar scenario to them.

JK: What are you going to do next?  What role are you dying to play?  [Kitty]

CP: I just finished doing Porgy in "Porgy and Bess," and that's the best role I've ever done on stage in a musical.  For an actor, it's a wonderful part emotionally.  That role has it all.  Love, tears, laughter, anger, all the emotions, and there's wonderful music.  But having done that for eight shows a week for seven months, I'm not looking forward to rushing back, yeah, to do something as grueling as that.  When this finishes, I'm doing the Great Santa Fe horse race from Santa Fe to Independence, Missouri, as a charity run for kids, for AIDS, and for saving the wild horses.
