Exclusive Clarke Peters Interview Jim King: This is July 26, and I am talking to Clarke Peters from Donna's in Baltimore.

Clarke Peters: Good morning, Jim.

JK: Clarke plays Lester Freamon on "The Wire." Clarke was born in New York City and now lives in London. Clarke has been a stage actor, Theatre World award nominee, Tony nominated, and a TV and movie actor with an extensive resume, most recently in "Freedomland" and "K-Pax."  What was the last movie you were in?

CP: "Freedomland."

JK: You are all over television now, too.

CP: There's a series that's just started on the BBC called "Meadowlands."

JK: Let's talk about "The Wire," Cool Lester Smooth.

CP: I think that actually came from Sonja (Sohn).  She coined it and it wound up in the script.

JK: And you are known for one of the show's signature lines, "All the pieces matter."

CP: Kinda like life, isn't it?  If you forget the milk in the morning, then it doesn't get into your coffee in the afternoon.
